Hi all,
To confirm everything regarding the uncollected photo-ops on the day, all images that were taken and sent to print have now been uploaded to our website over on the following link;
www.walescomiccon.com/#/photo-ops-2013/4576223358
Please make sure to view this on a computer rather than a phone so that you can get the individual ID reference number labelled to each photo and also we have decided to let these be free to download for you rather than charge like other shows do for digital versions - to do this simply open the image and double click where a "Download" button will appear and you can save this direct to your computer - if you still want the original hard copy also please email the team on info@walescomiccon.com
If you have already received your image either through the post or on the day and simply want your image(s) taken down, again please email us and let us know so we can keep up to date and track all images.
With regards to the Robert Picardo photo-ops a technical error happened on the day after the shoot when the images were being transferred in between the computer and the mobile storage device for print when the photographer and Robert were looking through the shoot - this resulted in around 10 images being deleted. Having only just been informed of this after the event by the photographer on-hand we have had no choice but to upload these images and let fans know that we will be providing a refund for this including the booking fee paid for the shoot and also offering sets of free tickets to the next event they can of course attend. We can only apologise for what has happened in this unavoidable situation - we all use computers on a regular basis so are aware of anything that can happen and we are addressing this issue directly to you the fans.
There is nothing more deflating for us as a team than when the fans do not enjoy the event, on a whole it was a huge success and for what is only our sixth event in total (all one day of learning each year) and having expanded around a large University campus the team did well.
We are certainly going to be reviewing the whole situation with regards to photo-ops also as last year went swimmingly with guests on time and Jessops handled the printing well enough to a high enough standard - there has been the mention of mobile printing on-site but to balance out the cost of this and of course trying not to jeopardize the quality of the actual images is important also. We have had a larger increase in shoots because this is a large revenue generator for us which in-turn allows us to bring over more International guests for you all to meet, without the shoots we could not have brought over the likes of Nick Brendon, Robert Picardo, Carlos Bernard, Chaske Spencer etc - we did receive a number of concerned messages regarding the photographer and the time taken to process an image, again as a fan attending these for years I am aware of how others work it and the time taken so this is certainly noted and I am fully aware.
The uncollected images are sent out via first class mail and have started going out already, there are some 500 images to get through.
To confirm this is usual common practice for events - I know myself having been in the same situation attending events for years as a fan and getting images in the mail also. They will arrive to the destination we promise you this.
Again we can only apologise for the situation for the 10 individuals with the Robert shoot and are addressing and reviewing everything for our next event(s) whenever they may be.
Those that have been with us for years know the journey we have been on and know the effort and commitment we put into this and this whole situation is never one we would have wanted or wished for upon anyone concerned but again we apologise for this.
