Permission to film on site

Hello, me and my friends are doing a cosplay documentary over the course of the day into people's reasons for cosplay. We're going to be bringing forms for anyone who is willing to join in but we were wondering if we could have permission to film.

One of our team is rather worried that we may get in trouble for filming, and as the deadline is soon after the event, we just don't want to worry about having a very quick rethink about what we're going to do.
