Guys as we see this event is off but it says Mercury is still open to the idea of using wrestlers and/or a convention.
Do we want 1 day? Do we want wrestlers who are new to UK? How many wrestlers? How much to pay?
I will start.....I want the experience of meeting the wrestlers, one day is enough, I would like to stay in the same hotel for one night. A three day stay would have me run up a giant bar tab. I like to meet new wrestlers, the main turn offs for Squared Circle were Sunny and Ted Dibiase as they are in the UK lots. If this is the case maybe a £30 entry and say £10-£20 charge per Wrestler then you can choose who you meet.(this would be another option besides VIP ticket) I would like some form of show in the evening, use a small cheap UK promotion. How good would it be to see Honkey Tonk Man hit some jobber with his guitar?

Being from Belgium, here are the points that makes me consider attending an event in the UK, and willing to pay lots of money on travel and hotel charges... - a 1-day event would be far better; that would cut off hotel expenses for most of the attendees and especially foreigners that, considering travel times, would have to be there 1 day before the event and 1 day after at least - a decent line up mostly made of FRESH names instead of always the same old guys (with respect to them) - Come on, even Steiner and Booker weren't such big draws, they just went on tour through Europe with the AWR where you could meet and greet with them for just a few euros (while on here Booker was advertised as for "Intercontinental" and "Championship" ticket holders only ) - less ticket choices : individual ones (numbered or not) and VIP ones is largely enough - no rumouring starters announcements like "legends that are interested in the show" --> On a personal point of view, that's typically the kind of announcement that sets me off and makes me very skeptical about the event itself... always afraid that such lines are ONLY being put on a forum in an attempt to boost ticket sales - that just has the opposite effect on me. Please only announce names when a contract has officially been signed. - allow autographs on personal items when you buy a ticket that includes autographs ; the thing wasn't very clear on here but what i understood is that the included autograph would HAVE to be on a picture. So what if you are NOT interested in a picture but rather having autos on your encyclopedia? I consider i pay for a signature, and the item i want it on shouldn't make any difference. - answer to the questions the potential attendees are asking : i sent an email weeks ago already (through the website) about advises for the trip as the event was held in a city that's not easily reachable for me - i was asking about airports and train stations near the venue and never got an answer. - if possible, make the event in a city that's internationally easily reachable for foreigners attendees, maybe Chester was not that hard to reach but as i never got the information well... i would rather go to Birmingham, Manchester or London but of course that last point is very personal. I think i said it all, and i really hope the future of wrestling cons in the UK or in Europe will be brighter than it is actually... If it's done well, there's no reason it wouldn't work.

Guy's forgive me for going "off topic".. I would like to convey my personal thanks to Jaime for all the hard work and precious time that he has put into this project, I think that it is a shame that this event has been postponed. I truly think and appreciate that a lot of people including myself have been "burnt" via another company regarding wrestling conventions here in England, which is such a shame as I think that this event would have been a total brilliant experience !! I have attended Wales Com Con a couple of times over the last two years and can not stress how professional and brilliant these events have been run.. Much respect and support to Jaime & Mercury !!!

This thread is for you guys the fans - what do you want from a wrestling convention?
I must say it's also strange how Powerslam are not returning any calls or emails also regarding us advertising the show - it's that kind of work ethic which is ruining the chance for wrestling conventions to happen over here. Before anyone says we are also well aware of the other publications available also.
Tell us what you want and that will be our aim for next year - a one day show sounds more appealing to you already.
I cannot thank everyone enough for posting on here and making the start of what will hopefully be a great community!
We will release details in the new year regarding the return of a wrestling event.
Thanks,
Jaime

Hello all,
Here's my thoughts and wants from a convention. I know some of these things are of personal pref' and some of which might not be of interest to others, some of the below may even seem a bit anal, but its purely a list of things i would like at a convention.
Firstly, i have been to a lot of meet and greets at wrestling shows, but i have only been to one convention, im sure i dont need to explain to everyone which one that was ;(
Anyway, what would i like:
** For VIP ticket holders...
Start late on the saturday (5.00pm onwards) and make it a 'party/dinner with the stars'.
Everyone stays in a hotel that night and the proper meet & greet convention starts at 9.00am on the sunday with the event closing at around 6.00pm so people can get trains back to the other side of the country.
I think eight stars would be great, one of which being a main eventer, and someone we have not seen before. Such as Sid, Slaughter, Vader.. someone like that.
Charge around £150 for the event if it includes a room for the night. This would also include, Unlimited photographs with stars using own personal camera, 1 professional photo taken with wrestler and 2 autographs with the option of buying more. This would include admission to the 'drinks with stars' the night before too and also gives priority for meeting wrestlers and seating at a Q&A session.
........
other than that: General Ad'
Let people pay around £25 in to the event and then another £15 to meet each individual star. (pretty much what fludder said).
..............
One thing im unsure about.. The way stars are positioned when it comes to signing autographs. I understand it makes it easier to get around to each person, but it can feel like you are being rushed through the whole thing. Maybe there is a better format??
I really, really don't like the idea of having non wrestling people at these events, no offence to the gladiator lady, or the ex wwf artist, but i really didn't care one bit for meeting these guys at a wrestling convo.
I think if the organisers know they are going to book 8 stars, they could possibly contact 12+, and let the fans vote.
A Q&A session always seems to be cool, providing the wrestlers are cool with fans asking whatevers on their minds. (providing its not completley prickish).
Even something like a silent auction, if the wrestler has an item such as for example 'sgt slaughters army hat'. I do generally feel let down about what items wrestlers bring over to sell, it never seems enough. I understand customs hinder this process, but i wounder if there is anyway around it. Such as the convention website offering fans the chance to purchase items from said wrestler over the internet. The money would go stright to the wrestler, they could post the item to the fan, the fan could then bring that item to the convention for photos and autograph etc etc.
I know, a lot of the above seems like a ramble. Sorry about that!

We are still working around the clock with various people to bring guests over as promised to our flagship shows the Wales Comic Con (amongst others).
Stay tuned all and we hope you had a happy new year! ;D

Hi all. I don't know whether I am a bit late in posting this, but I have only recently found out about Mercury, with this years Wales Comic Con being my first, which I am very exited about I too am a wrestling fan. Maybe not as big as when I was younger, but still a wrestling fan none the less and I would love to attend a wrestling convention. I have seen the posts about the postponed Squared Circle and have to say I wish I had found Mercury sooner as I would have loved to attend; especially as you had Gregory Helms booked. Personally, I would love a one day convention as it would be cheaper, but so long as it was affordable, I would be open to any style of event so long as I had a good time and got to meet some of my favourite wrestlers such as Gregory Helms, Jeff and Matt Hardy, AJ Styles, Edge (though I know he has now retired) and Christian.

Yeah it's been a while since this event was put on hold, however if enough interest is generated who knows?
All i can say is invite all your friends to the facebook page and get this company known so more events can happen =]
