My second time at WCC and it was just as amazing. The overlap with Eoin's Q&A and the GoT one kinda sucked but aside from that, a perfect day. The organisation was also much better this time around! Cannot wait for the next one. 8)

4thed! Loved it, great event and was cool meeting 4 Wrestlers, Goldust is a really cool guy! Btw, I was the dude dressed as Mankind if anyone cares lol. I saw you a few times. Great costume! May I ask, who was the kid you were with (With the IC Title Belt) supposed to be? I couldn't quite tell. Then again, I haven't watched wrestling in years. Lol my nephew was supposed to be Dude Love, I couldn't find a wig that would fit him. Most childrens wigs are for girls only and they wouldn't have looked anything like Mick Foley's hair. And thanks!

To all you lucky people who had tickets be grateful you didn't have to wait 3 hours to pay on the door. I would have loved tickets but didn't realise you could get them tell the box office was closed. Comments about you should have got your tickets before you went aren't really helpful. Do you think we would have chosen to queue for three hours! Saying that everyone queuing was in great humour and should be congratulated for their patience. Thankyou to all you cosplays who wandered up and down the never ending queue especially to the alien and predator who crept up to the kids on the grass and frightened them to death, the screaming as they ran back to mum and dad cheered us all up. Originally went to comic con for son but seeing eoin was a great bonus he was lovely and made my day.

I would like to say that despite the photo op waiting time, the event was much better organized than some of the MCM shows I have been too in the past.
The only thing I would complain about is the small halls. Being on a Uni campus, they could/should have utilized more space. But besides that, I can't really complain about anything else really. Loved the show and I do hope there are more shows with more/different wrestlers to appear next time!

oooo are you the kind lady that held the seats for us at the talk?? i said to my hubby that i really hoped they cleared the room first thank you so much i was gutted that we missed the talk with being so close to the front of the queue, but then was surprised you were so far back when i saw the photos :-) thanks for doing that for us, maybe see you next year :-) Have to say I had an a amazing day! The queues were manageable (poor mick folly's queue was just insane!), was able to get a decent priced cup of coffee and have general good fun. I think the delays were bad, but.... Handled ok in some respects. My only issue was with q and a's..... My quick story... We had got in with early birds (a must) so had everything we wanted by the time our first (nick's) q and a was due. I decided we should go queue a bit early, fully expecting it to be busy and also a trick I learned from last year. We queued and queued, then went to go in, only to find out it was actually lord of the rings q and a, so we turned around and started a brand new queue for nicks talk.... We were soooo chuffed! So an hour passed and we were excited to be let in wanting to claim out seats at the front...... What we walked into was a half full auditorium..... I was shocked and slightly annoyed. Having come to comicon last year, the etiquette was that everyone from the previous talk was told to leave the room, so that those who had queued could gain entry and have a shot at the front. now im aware that this room was much larger, but.... for those who had queued for an hour, it didnt matter and were nowhere near the front. if i had known, i would have gone to the first q and a and never left..... this was poor in my opinion and slightly unfair. other then that me and my friends had an amazing day! definitely needs the stalls and signings to be separate. thanks to all the crew!

Heeey! I was there at the Con with my friend who was dressed up as Storm! (8 She decided to come a week before the event and sadly couldn't get an early bird ticket online because the sales had been closed. I wasn't about to leave her in the queue on her own (I already had my ticket) so we decided to go early and just queue up anyway. We got to the queue at 10:15, a good 45 minutes before general entry - and finally made it inside at 2:30! Thats actually insane! We didn't go to any talks, see any props or manage to hunt down the cars (we should probably have printed off the map or something before hand - but there didn't seem to be much signage or help from staff - at one point I asked one of the guys holding the "pay on the door queue" signs where to go and he just shrugged and said he didn't know). Inside was ridiculously busy as well! We couldn't get near half the stalls to start with because of the sheer amount of people (especially when they were queueing for guests!) and trying to get through the crowds was mental! People kept pushing into us and not apologising. >:U Patience seemed to be the key and so we had to wait around a lot...
However! We did have fun once we got in, and my friend got a lot of comments about her cosplay which was really good. We managed to make some friends in the queue too and I spent some time talking and fangirling to John-Paul Bove (again) and we came away with a couple of awesome posters etc.
I just want to re-iterate what other people were saying about clearer signs, more space and perhaps signings away from vendors. (8 But like everyone else has already said - its still a baby-con and it IS improving each time! Can't wait till the next one! (though next time we're going to start queuing at 8am or something just to be on the safe side -_-; )

This was my first time at WCC.. actually my first ever convection. Always fancied going but just never really had the time, but my fiancée surprised me and I had a great day, and will definitely come again. A couple of comments about the day; We didn't have early bird tickets so we arrived early, just before 10, and finally got in 3 hours later. Whilst queuing, and enjoying the Cos-players interacting with the crowd, we rarely saw event officials checking everyone was in the right queue, or giving out information. The lack of information and direction, made it feel like we couldn't leave the line, to possibly see other parts of the event, without giving up possibly ever getting into the hall. Just before we got through the door they came down the line to sell tickets directly so people can move onto the Q&A's etc. I feel this should of been done a lot sooner, maybe even in a separate dedicated box-office area, so that we could have wandered around the event and seen more, and known exactly what queue was for what and made an informed choice. The hall was packed, not unexpected, but it could of been better. The lack of space meant it was a struggle not only to get round, get up close to sales booths, or just talk to the attendees, but as people were queuing for autographs some would refuse to move, I assume fearing I would jump there place. The Q&A hall was great, and the few I attended were extremely funny. It was good that you had a few screens showing now/next talk info and timings. Could those screens been altered with the delayed times to make it a little smoother? Don't get me wrong, I loved the day, even those 3 hours in the queue where many a Xeno, Trooper, Superhero, Ape or Predator gladly posed for photos and scared the daylights out of few teens And the Star Wars and Dwarf talks were brilliant. Purposely missed the Thrones talk as I'm only up to episode 4 of season 1, yeah, I know I'm slow. Now just tell me, when are the early birds next on sale

This was my third WCC. I first attended in 2010 and I cannot believe just how much it has grown since then. It's amazing to think that the Q&As were once held in a small corner of the sports hall and they now have their own space! It's absolutely fantastic how it has developed into a major con with thousands of people travelling far and wide to attend. I understand that there were a few niggles about one thing and another, but I am sure they will be ironed out as time goes on. One major plus for me this year was the excellent way in which the Early Bird entry queues were handled. They were organised so much better and time waiting was reduced greatly. All in all we had an absolutely fantastic day and we met some lovely people. We cannot thank Jaime, Ash and all of the crew enough for all the hard work they put into bringing this con to the north. You all certainly deserve high praise indeed. Here's to next time. Thank you!

It was me and my friends! We were so gutted they didn't empty the halls, after queuing for all that time. Glad you managed to get your pics though. Hope you enjoyed the rest of your day. I can only echo what others have already said - I had a fabulous day again, the staff are so calm & friendly all the time, even when the world around them is in chaos, the Owls were fab, can't believe I've held & stroked an owl!, hope they are there next time! the Uni canteen being open, again great idea, having a few choices for lunch was awesome, and the doughnut stall, I mean 1. who doesn't like doughnuts? and 2. he made a damn tasty latte, which was much needed come the afternoon, the cars, the talks - so much better being in the small place from last year, but might be worth letting people know in advance they can go upstairs as well as that seemed to be a last minute move during the red dwarf talk. Also the guy who hosts the talks I think does a really good job of getting some interesting questions asked, it's clear he's a fan like everyone else and it makes a difference. Oh and Robert Llewellyn having books to sign - INCLUDED in the auto price, Bonus! I almost bought a copy of the man in the rubber mask before going to WCC but thought I'd chance it that he might have copies, super stoked about that. overall we had a really enjoyable day but a few areas of feedback / suggests for next time: better communication such as updating the twitter feed/ having signs outside the buildings with delays /time changes would've helped (would've felt less panicked about having to get across the campus in time for a photo op etc), I know someone has mentioned about the ability to print your own tickets etc due to not turning up in the post - something like eventbrite where you can either show your phone to be scanned (saving paper!) or print your own ticket perhaps? The printed map was tbh not that great, despite having been to the site before it wasn't much help, maybe a simple 2d map (with the relevant road names on) would've helped to find bearings easier - also having where the cars were, the food stalls etc marked on it as well. I know someone has previously mentioned about being allowed to stay in the halls continuously for talks, we were wary after last time of the talks being cleared so we checked with the staff to find out we could stay, but as with popular talks even though we were in for star wars, we didn't manage to move forward any for red dwarf as lots of people had the same idea, on the plus side with it being a sloped lecture theatre, it meant you didn't suffer too much from taller people in front of you. Also it was great how quick they got everyone in the hall (early bird) but maybe could've been made clearer that you could go in any of the buildings when they opened, queued for about 15/20 minutes to get into main hall to realise that tickets for photo ops and the red dwarf signings were in Catrin Finch which is where we'd started queuing from! I've already mentioned in another thread my feelings about it being a 2 day event / slightly longer event / maybe on day that isn't a Sunday so wont repeat myself so when's the next one?

Hi all,
This was my third ever con and having attended LFCC and DSTL before hand I was looking forward to this event as I had been told it was good. It didn't disappoint and the best thing about it was that the folks running it were very customer service orientated. In fact Showmasters could learn a thing or to from you in that regard.
I pre bought the bulk of my tickets and picked up a couple of Red Dwarf cast photo tickets early doors and proceeded about the day it was a bit tight schedule wise but I was able to achieve what I wanted in the main.
Im looking forward to the next event and would like to contribute if possible?
PS did anyone notice that sneaky Jason Joiner handy out flyers for CM and LFCC ?

Hi
I reported Jason to security after he threatened me when I said to him he shouldn't be handing out leaflets for his own events.
Thanks for confirming that you saw him doing so.

Appreciate your kind words - the team are all still learning as this is only our sixth ever event, other companies in the UK have had over 25 years each running events of all natures. Once we get the photo-ops out we can all finally relax, though we are planning the next one already..
