Well we have finally settled all the dust from what was a hugely successful and the busiest event yet for us - we sold over 3000 preorder tickets this time around and our crew of 80 strong handled the day the best they could given the circumstances that arose throughout - we had TWO new Q&A halls which filled to capacity during the day and it is clear you love the panels with rave reviews and even queues for this going down the corridor past the campus canteen
We had more guests than ever before in both our Comiczone and Media related guests - due to this the queues were still in effect but that did not stop the majority of you fantastic lot enjoying the day.
It is apparent though that we cannot address this much further by just using the sports centre as an entrance with such a bottle neck though the argument for a long time was move or stay? Where would we go? We have looked at venues in North Wales of which there was only two other realistic options both of which would not function best for us and the cost was astronomical, the other option was to move away to a city somewhere else but that would involve much cost in transporting the team, venue costs and much more and would almost be building from scratch once again, plus we would no longer be known as the much loved Wales emblem that you all know so well these days!
That means we have decided to hold off until next year (dates announced soon) to run our next event so we can work out best to fix the event where it is currently..
Queues are always going to be inevitable it seems with the event being there so we urge for your support and advise people to preorder to avoid this - our staff went up and down the queues this year also to advise people of the right place to go - WE EVEN HAD HUGE A1 SIGNS ON PLACARD POSTS OUTSIDE THE DOORS HIGH IN THE AIR (which our guys held onto all day!) - we also have other issues to address like on-site toilets, photo printing etc
We plan to bring a better lineup than ever before in terms of artists, writers, actors and wrestlers along with some exclusives for the show also
I thank you all once again for being a part of something special, it wasn't easy but we did it and keep defying all the odds and all the rules of events by running this event without corporate sponsors and outside of the hustle and bustle of UK cities.
Thank you from myself and the entire team of volunteers who help make Wales Comic Con the hottest up and coming event the UK has seen in years
