I’ve got some feedback about wales comic con and a bit of a story to relate. I've been a big supporter of the event going back to the second year and have enjoyed seeing things explode for you.
Firstly I want to say that it is a great event, queuing is an inevitable feature of these events and they were managed really well. It is fantastic seeing this event grow and develop. However, one thing that isn’t addressed is provision for disabled con goers.
I have a friend who wrote to you and tried to get your attention on various social media sites about access issues. They have a disability and whilst they aren’t in a wheelchair they find standing and queuing tiring and difficult. The sad thing was because they didn’t receive an answer they didn’t feel able to attend.
Could you add something to your FAQ to deal with disability queries or publish a policy for those with disabilities about accessing the sports hall and William Aston hall without having to queue for an hour before hand. Could some seating near the front of hall be reserved for diasbled guests who aren't in wheelchairs. Could there be a fast track entry for guests with disabilities.
The con is continuing to go from strength to strength and I that a great event like this needs clear and transparent information regarding accessibility.
