Evening all,
I said from the start when I wanted to hold a wrestling event first and foremost because I was a fan that I would also be honest and upfront with you all regarding it - our deadline has arrived and we have not sold enough tickets to warrant this event to go ahead in February.
We can sit here and give out excuses such as personal health, previous events, cliche agents doing bad business, etc (which is actually all true) but we feel the general public certainly isn't ready yet for a convention of this size.
Going forward we are going to postpone this event until Autumn next year and are already in talks with the already announced talent and some other guests (including quite possibly the biggest superstart of the last two decades...) to come to one of our shows (i.e. Squared Circle, Wales Comic Con, the Force Harlow) next year and it has been a real honour to have worked with them especially the likes of Ted Dibiase & Tatanka who I grew up watching as a kid.
We are making a loss by postponing this event already having paid deposits for the venue, advertising etc but the support just wasnt there and speculation is still rife that we are some company that we are not - until that "clowd" is lifted the UK convention scene will have to wait.
It seems wherever the wrestling scene goes - controversy follows it, which was a huge eye opener for us having already worked with various guests including actors, artists and sportsmen from all over the globe.
My own personal apologies for the lack of "transmition" as of late on here, the Comic Con forum is buzzing as we have a whole team working on guests, dealers, advertising etc for that but a smaller team on the wrestling event and I have not been available at this time.
Anyone who is wanting a refund please email us direct on info@mercurypromotions.co.uk with your details and your Paypal reference number so we can process it quickly and smoothly for you as we know it will help to arrive back before Christmas.
Also anyone who has booked accomodation at the Ramada Plaza hotel itself please contact them direct at the earliest quoting the Mercury Promotions event in February and if needed ask for "Gemma Carvell" who has been wonderful in helping with us and has already reserved dates.
If you think a one day show would be more appropriate please let us know this is still something we would like to happen for you all.
I could go on but thank you all for the support those who post on here regularly and I will contact those personally who have helped us also on other levels.
