Hey everyone,
WOW! Simply amazing. What a year we have had over here at Mercury HQ and I really cannot thank everyone enough for the support in recent times.
For me personally the last year and the journey I have had has been so up and down it is unreal but I can now happily say we are through the finish line and out the other side in better shape than ever before! Some of you may know that my health was in question before Christmas time last year and we didn't know if holding the show would be possible in my condition, but I always said to the fans that I wanted to keep this event going - and I did. It happened, and was bigger than any event ever before!!! ;D
I want to say a huge thank you to my crew who are made up of some of the greatest friends and family and my partner (who I love dearly and put through hell driving her mad about this haha) I could ever ask for. We run around all day, answer questions and try to resolve any issues that may arise on the day (and believe me these certainly can happen)! Thank you all you are the greatest and I love everyone of you
A big thank you to Ed who hosted our talks this year for the first time ever, Darren the sound engineer who also attended for the first time and Chris our new photographer who I am sure you will all agree - they all did a tremendous job!
Of course again thank you to all the guests who attended and made the journey and enjoyed the day - we hope you enjoyed meeting all the actors, artists, writers, publishers, costumers, wrestlers, models, aliens...the list goes on! Everyone was fantastic and a joy to work with and great with the fans.
We run a great fan-friendly show, unlike others, where you actually get a chance to speak to the people you pay to meet. I want to thank guests who have returned this time including Gareth David-Lloyd, Spencer Wilding, Barrie Holland and Neil Edwards as well as new guests including; Chris Barrie, Simon Furman, Chris Rankin and everyone else involved with the day ;D
A big thank you to stallholders old and new who attended the day and all said what a great show we had and the turnout was fantastic. A different turnout in terms of stalls compared to previous years giving you more choice and more items to buy throughout the day.
We had a great showing from World of Warcraft who donated some great prizes and thanks to Warhammer and their Gaming Club Network for hosting live games for you throughout the day.
The costume groups are always a pleasure to work with and it was great seeing some old and new faces from various UK groups who work throughout the day for you fans!
Lastly thank you - the fans. This show would not happen without you, pure and simple. I hope you enjoyed the day and had a safe journey home. I am off now to take a rest, relax and perhaps take up a new tv series during a time-out; any suggestions as to what I watch??
Keep your eyes and ears open for any future news regarding future events and involvement with shows and we will see you later in the year...
THANK YOU
Jaime
